Christmas Came Early for Cody: Getting into Some New Bikilas

The countdown for package delivery was over, and I couldn't help but hound Cody for details on his newly acquired Bikilas. "I'll be right over," I heard on the other end of the line shortly before his black truck rumbled to a stop in my driveway. I'd seen the grin plastered on his face somewhere before. Oh yeah, it was akin to the look on my face when my Bikilas showed up shortly after they were introduced to the American continent.

Cody pealed back the lid of his box and revealed a pair of stunning blue/black/gray running shoes. We both held our breath as he pulled the FiveFinger onto his foot. Not much could be worse than having to send them away for exchange due to sizing them wrong, but they fit. Cody looked over his new 'toys' with the curiosity of an innocent child on Christmas morning. Nothing could have swayed his newly directed focus, Bikilas.

Before long, Cody was off to the asphalt, the rumored playground of the FiveFinger Bikilas, for a test run. Trying to keep his head high (a difficult task when wearing new FiveFingers) and taking quick, hopping steps, he glided down the street. A smile twitched at his lips as he came back towards me. Seemed like a good first impression to me.

Hey I'm famous!!!!!!!! Awesome. I should have written up more of a review of my first dozen hours in the Bikilas! After the Waterton 8.5 km hike, I've been lazy. BUT....outside of my church shoes and a really slim souled work shoes - my Bikilas are my only footwear.

I'm loving how strong my feet and legs have been getting. And my back pain is gone. I can't wait for the Elementary School Terry Fox run.

Don't hold back, Cody. I'll be happy to post your Bikila review when you get a free moment to write it :-)
