Priorities...

Sometimes life forces you to slow down and take a look at what matters most.

While running an Ultra has been a major focus for this past year, I have been juggling other things of importance, a newborn coming into our lives, my other three children, my wife, work, church responsibilities, this site. With so many things going on, it has been regrettably easy to let some things slip. Getting hurt is helping me to regain focus.

I can't lie, this injury sucks. I have worked hard to prepare to run a 50 miler. It feels as if a lot of that work has been thrown away, but it's not always about the destination. Right? The journey has made me stronger and more acutely aware of myself. Now it's time to go down a different road.
